Avinasi Gounder Mariammal College of Education is a pioneer Teacher Education institution, having to its credit a remarkable contribution to the empowerment and upliftment of Student-Teachers(D.El.Ed & B.Ed) and Teacher Educators(M.Ed) molding them into academically and professionally competent, self-sufficient and self-confident individuals to emerge outstanding in their respective avocations. The College is established in the year 2005 with the aim to achieve high ideals for future teachers. Facilities and Infrastructure Avinasi Gounder Mariammal College of Education

The library was established in the academic year 2005-06. It has 8865 volumes of text and reference books on various disciplines. The library subscribes to 20 National and International journals and 04 leading Newspapers. The library is following the open access system and provides its service to meet the requirements of M.Ed scholars and staff members of the College. Our Library has various sections such as Reference Section, Textbook Section, Books for competitive Examinations, Theses Dissertations Section, Back Volumes Section, Reprographic Section, Question Banks, etc.

The Language Lab is fully equipped with Computers with individual cabins, each provided with a headphone and is placed in a compact cubicle creating a user-friendly atmosphere. LCD Projector, Home Theater Relevant recorded DVD, and advanced language learning software are available in the lab. As the various software installed are self-explanatory and are of different variety each student has the liberty to choose a software of their choice and be benefitted. An interactive spoken language lab with modern audio equipment and a qualified trainer has been set up to improve the communication skills of the students.

We have Health Centre with basic medical facilities on our campus. Regular and periodical free health services are also offered as a follow-up. Free master health checkup is conducted for all the students and the staff every year. Periodical lectures are delivered highlighting specific problems of women regarding their Health and Hygiene.

The College sports ground is beautifully located on campus. It has well-tended football and an excellent cricket square and nets, newly refurbished hard tennis courts, also used for netball. AGM College team plays its home games at the sports ground. Student Teachers are encouraged to participate in all the intercollegiate level sports in Educational Colleges in and around Erode Districts and also State level. The department has infrastructures for indoor games such as Table tennis, Carom, Chess, and Outdoor games such as Volleyball, Football, Throw ball, Tennikoit, Shuttle, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Javelin, Relay, and Cricket.
